Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actress best recognized for her role as Detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue, for which she earned the Emmy Award. Delaney is the sole daughter of a United Auto Workers senior executive and a domestic worker, was raised by four siblings. In 1981, she starred as a naive teen in All My Children. Delaney, a young actress who was in her 20s, appeared in numerous TV shows and dramas. Her marriages have also ended in failure twice. In 2005, she was denied the custody of her sole son.
