Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actress best recognized for her role as Detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue, for which she earned the Emmy Award. Kim Delaney is known as the Detective Diane Russell on ABC's series NYPD Blue. She also appeared on the drama show All My Children Philly, CSI: Miami, and Army Wives. Delaney is the sole daughter of a United Auto Workers senior executive and a domestic worker, was raised by four siblings. The idea of being a reporter for the court in the early years of her life, however she began modelling in high school eventually garnering commercials following her move from New York. In 1981, she starred as a naive teen in All My Children. Delaney, a young actress who was in her 20s, appeared in numerous TV shows and dramas. Contrary to her successful professional life, Delaney's private life isn't as content and successful. She is gifted and gorgeous, has struggled with addiction to alcohol before. Her marriages have also ended in failure twice. In 2005, she was denied the custody of her sole son.
